WHAT IS CAMBRIDGE A ‘Level
Cambridge A-level is an examination body with the government’s approval. This programme was first introduced in the December 2013 in Nigeria. The programme witnessed a restructuring in April 2014 when about ten Universities partnered together with the premier university- University of Ibadan spearheading the restructuring. Cambridge A ‘level is specifically designed for student who are unable to gain admission into regular degree programmes in Nigeria. He programme is specifically designed to provide an opportunity for candidates who cannot gain admission to regular degree programmes in Nigerian Universities for various reasons as it is applicable.
Important things to note about Cambridge A ‘levels in Nigeria:
- Approval
Cambridge A’ level in Nigeria is approved by the federal government of Nigeria. Interestingly, the federal government of Nigeria has a dedicated platform for applicants to ease securing admission into the university both home and abroad.
- Certified
This programme is certified by the Nigeria University Commission (NUC). Cambridge A ‘Levels has the seal of Nigerian University Commission as it qualifies student to secure admission into tertiary institution through direct entry.
- Success Rate
According to statistics, Cambridge accepts about 21,000 applications every year and about they record about 70% success rate. This implies that as an applicant, you are guaranteed about 70% chance of success and admission into Universities of your choice provided they take Cambridge as an entry requirement. Also, you have to read and pass well in your Cambridge examinations.
HOW DOES THE PROGRAMME WORKS?
Applicants for Cambridge A ‘levels are required to choose any three A level Cambridge Subjects combination as related to their potential course of study. Also, you are required to to general subject- English language to go with the subject combination.
Furthermore, Candidates are then being taken through extensive teaching and tutoring for a specific period of time in selected approved Cambridge A’ level study centers. At the final stages of the extensive lectures, candidates are then subjected to an examination which you are expected to pass. Upon completion, Candidates can then progress in making use of their Cambridge A ‘levels to secure admissions into 200l across various Universities in Nigeria though JAMB direct entry.
HOW LONG DOES THE PROGRAMME TAKE?
CAMBRIDGE A ‘Level programme in Nigeria is usually run within 9 months. It can sometimes extend through to 10 months. It consists of just one session which is then splitted into just two semesters.
ARE YOU ELIGIBLE FOR THIS PROGRAMME?
To be eligible for this programme, prospective applicants must possess a minimum of 5 credit passes across relevant subject as applicable to their course of study. Stuents with awaiting result are also eligible for this programme. This programme is offered all relevant field-science, arts and the social sciences.
CYCLE OF ADMISSION INTO CAMBRIDGE PROGRAMMES IN NIGERIA
Cambridge A’ level programme in Nigeria has three cycles. One in January, another in May and the final one in October.
SCORING SYSTEM OF CAMBIRDGE A’LEVEL PROGRAMME IN NIGERIA
Cambridge A’ level programme has its own scoring system as other direct entry programmes. For Cambridge A’ level, your graded on the total of 16 points and you are required to get a minimum of 5 points.
HOW TO GET CAMBRIDGE A ‘LEVEL NIGERIA FORM?
To get Cambridge A’ level programme form, you have to go on the Cambridge A’ level programmes in Nigeria website ( Cambridge Nigeria Website) to print out the A’ level form and fill. Applicants are then required to pay #25,000 which is the application fee.

VALIDITY OF CAMBRIDGE A’LEVEL PROGRAMME IN NIGERIA
It might interest you to know that unlike some other A’ level programmes, Cambridge A’ level programme in Nigeria does not expire i.e. it does not have an expiry date as it I still valid even after tem or more years.
